Simple Guide For Selecting Long Lasting Leather For Your CouchJuly 3, 2009 on 10:07 am | In Home |Loveseats are the perfect choice for rooms that are small or rooms that already have several pieces of furniture. Since they take up less room than a traditional sofa they are great in small spaces. They are designed to fit two people comfortably and come in several different styles. The addition of a leather loveseat can give a room a sense of sophistication. Finding the perfect high quality leather loveseat for your space may be more of a hassle than you first imagined. While there are many loveseats that look like they are made from leather a closer look will tell you that they are instead made from vinyl, pleather, or faux leather. There are many things to think about when buying a leather loveseat. One thing you will need to look at is the grade of leather. The best leather for furniture is top grain, which is the top layer of the hide. This type of leather has a uniform color and is the thicket type of leather. The best way to tell the quality of leather is to touch it. The best quality leather is soft to the touch and very supple. A lower grade of leather which less durable than top grain is split leather. This type of leather is not as thick and will feel tougher to the touch. It is often difficult to tell the quality of leather furniture as you cannot really inspect it completely. Without seeing both sides it can be difficult to tell the quality of leather. It is a good idea to get a sample swatch from your furniture store so you can touch both sides. While leather is very durable it will need certain care to stay in top shape. If you have small children you might want to consider having your loveseat coated with a waterproofing finish in order to preserve it. Leather loveseats may not be the best choice for those with pets with sharp claws as pets can accidently damage your loveseat beyond repair.
